The term Emotional Intelligence (EQ) directed attention of researchers to the role of emotions in school, at the workplace and society in general. It was presented as the result of dissatisfaction with the term emotional quotient (IQ). EQ is reported as a good predictor of success in one's life than IQ and neglecting it can create serious problems in academic success. Considering the fact that awareness of EQ has positive impact on students' success in academic setting this book focused on the role of EQ on knowledge of words as the building blocks of language. Seeking the correlation between EQ and word knowledge can provide useful information for teachers, instructors, students syllabus designers and anyone else who may be considering academic performance.

Folora Mahmood Pashazadeh is a PhD candidate of TEFL at Urmia University (International Campus), Urmia, Iran. She got her M.A in TEFL from Iran. She has been teaching English for 18 years.
