Beschreibung

This book analyses the attitudes of the Greek consumers in relation to their food purchases. More specifically the research emphasized on their perceptions towards certain food categories as a consequence of the continuously changing environment with regards to food prices and consumers lifestyle. In more details the aspects that were analyzed are the consumption of functional, organic and convenience food in Greece along with the way that the economic recession has affected their purchases. The results of the survey demonstrated that the Greeks are people who care about the quality of the food they consume as the nutrition has a major impact on health. The Greek consumers and especially the ones who belong to older age groups tend to consume functional food products in a regular basis as they believe that this type of food benefits their health condition. On the other hand they are not willing to pay much more money in comparison to the conventional foods in order to buy functional foods as the economic recession has an impact on the food purchases in general.
