Beschreibung

The Information Age and globalization have transformed the world into a global village. Thus, everyone - individual or community - has the opportunity to participate in the debate on hot issues, in providing solutions or in generating security-related problems. The world is much more divided by culture, economy, technology, information and religion than by national borders of states. The differential access to information from that of common interest and up to the scientific, technical, medical and military ones generate discrepancies in the evolution of the world population. Cultural differences should not lead to clashes, except the ones between ideas, at a debate level aiming at finding a commonly accepted conclusion or the one which is not rejected, does not offend others' sensitivities and leave the door open for dialogue to bring positions closer. Education is the best weapon that the terrorists and extremists can be defeated by because the most important field of confrontation is the psychological one and the target - the minds of people. People need to understand the benefits of a peaceful coexistence in multiethnic, multiracial and multi-religious societies
